14 twist 700 22-250 loads besides 40's???

I don't have the 22-250 but do have the 220 Swift in the Remington 700 and 1:14 twist barrel.

Mine shoots the 55gr Sierra HPBT with extremely good accuracy. So well in fact that I have my CDS dial on my Leupold scope for it built to the load I am shooting with that bullet. It is my go to bullet for sure.

I don't know why it would not do the same in your 22-250 as the load I am shooting out of my Swift is not extremely hot. I think I am shooting it at about 3850+- fps.

It's been several months since I shot them but I think 36.5 grains of Varget is what I am loading with the 40's. Doesn't like white box Winchester hp's which I think are 45's. I have tried 50 and 55 v-max and Nosler BT's as well as a couple other powders. I guess I need to try the 55 SHOTS that are the only thing one of my 14 twist swifts likes. Since the only thing I shoot besides paper is coyotes, I would prefer something heavier than 40's. The 40's shoot somewhere in the .5" to .75 ish range for 5 shot groups and the rifles appear to be like new with low round counts. I am not sure the Lvsf had more than 20 rounds through it when I bought it. You guys have any thing that is some what of a know good load with a hunting bullet in the 50 ish 55 ish weight?

Varget and 55 Bergers 22410. One hole groups.

60g Sierra HP stabilizes very, very well in a Rem 700 22/250 with a 14T, max load of IMR 4350 and Hunter, hammers deer and antelope very well also.

As I stated in an earlier post, the only bullets I have had trouble with in a 14T is the 53g Hornady V max and the 55g Sierra Blitz king(some rifles).

I will state this again, as your throat gets long, go to a Sierra 55g Semi point and a 63g Sierra semi point, they are very, very good bullets for coyotes, and the 55g semi point is also a great ground squirrel bullet.

I had a brand new Howa Varmint that had a very long throat, I could not touch the lands. Went straight to a 63g Sierra, shot bug holes after bedding and freefloating, that was in 1987.
