16, 18 or 20 inch barrel

So 16" and shorter barrels made are generally not designed for 1/2" accuracy. That doesn't mean the length of the barrel has anything to do with it. It's the construction and materials of the barrel that make them less accurate.

But sub-MOA garantees are dime-a-dozen. RRA has a 3/4" garantee on 16" several models, for example.
stag arms guarentees 1/2 moa on at least one of there 24" models and 3 of my 16s are wylde chambers ss barrels

I don't think many at all put any kind of a guarantee on how they will shoot, even 20" or longer. Most will claim 1" or less but I don't think it is guaranteed.

Are you intentionally derailing IABEAR's thread, like the others you have posted in, or is it on accident, because you forgot where you were posting?

BTW, welcome to PM, I love Idaho and have a few friends there.

I think the question that we need to ask here is "why would anyone in their right mind be shooting m855 or m855a green tips at anything other than people in a war zone, where you don't have the option for a better projectile?"

Ban it. What NEED do we have for armor piercing cop killer bullets any way.

No, the question should be - "why the F is anyone even talking about M855 GreenTip's in this thread at all?" The OP asked about a 20" benchrest rifle he can take calling too, capable of 1/2MOA. Nobody gives a [beeep] about greentip in this thread...

Coyotejunki brought up some stupid article that doesn't pertain to any real world experience about how the military realized that short barrel carbines and M855 don't play well together and somehow derailed the conversation...

You may want to consider how often your going to be taking it out into the field and how far your traveling, it may not be a one size fits all application. I've taken my 16" ar out a few times (Sadly I haven't gotten a shot at a critter yet) while my RRA NM stayed at home. Yes the NM is more accurate but I wouldn't want to take it out in the field. If I'm dragging that much weight around I'll just take my Garand, lol. My Garand actually feels lighter compared to my NM. But it's also a 5 mile round trip walk so for my application I'll take the shorter, lighter option. Best of luck!

You need to get your names correct, I didn't bring up any article, or post on this thread until now..
