Could you do a "lightweight" build w/the 16"? With a low profile gas block and some sort of lighweight handguard, not sure if I would like the carbon style.

Do you still have 18's availble? I thing I'll pop for one tomorrow.

Been looking at GTS/Douglas', Rainier's & WOA's for the last couple weeks trying to make a descision. The fluteing & your reputation are going to push me your direction.

Let me know how to order as the site doesn't have an option to order barrels or other parts.

The easiest way to get at Scott for an order is to email to scott@specializeddynamics.com. I'll shoot him a text and let him know you interested.

I got mine yesterday, they are beautiful! These guys that don't take advantage of this are gonna regret it...

For what reasons? I have little knowledge in this area.

I just feel like the larger diameter with flutes is more ridged then the thin profile under the hand guard that most LWT contours use. I got my brother a LWT contour and it starts to show signs of a wondering zero after about 3 shots.

If you look at the link you can see how a LWT compares to SPR. If you remove some weight through fluting the barrel has more surface area to allow heat to escape. Retaining larger overall barrel diameter with flutes gives a stiffer barrel over all.

Thanks for the explanation. I'm planning a build which will be used for coyote hunting. I'm torn between the 5.56 chamber of these barrels or the .223 Wylde. I shoot 55grn or so bullets and they do really well out of my current RRA HBAR which is a Wylde. With shooting from a 5.56 chamber, with the light grain bullets, can I expect good accuracy?

Can you say what company these originated from? Sorry if it is somewhere and I missed it.
