"16 ton and what do you get"

Got thinking about the old Tennessee Ernie Ford song this morning. Well, it may not be 16 ton, but I did put another 16# of "smokeless propellant" on the shelf in the basement yesterday.

From NFPA 495-1992

10-3.7 Smokeless propellants intended for personal use in quantities not exceeding 20 lb (9.1 kg) may be stored in original containers in residences. Quantities exceeding 20 lb (9.1 kg) but not exceeding 50 lb (22.7 kg), may be stored in residences if kept in a wooden box or cabinet having walls of at least 1-inch (25.4 mm) nominal thickness.

OOPS!

cb where the heck did you find powder in the metro area ?

My buddy over at Sportsman's called me and said they had just gotten some powder in so I ran (drove) right over. He took me back into the vault and I grabbed an 8# BM and an 8# W748. They didn't get in that much and the rifle powder inventory is very low. I still need H335 and H4198 in a bad way but they didn't get any of that.

My inventory is around 150# right now and I would like to get it built up to 300#

Primers is the next challenge.

Some people say a man is made out of mud
A poor man's made out of muscle and blood
Muscle and blood and skin and bones
A mind that's weak and a back that's strong

Chorus:
You load sixteen tons, and whattaya get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
St. Peter don'cha call me, cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store

I was born one morning when the sun didn't shine
I picked up my shovel and I walked to the mine
I loaded sixteen tons of number-nine coal
And the store boss said, "Well bless my soul!"

Chorus

I was born one morning, it was drizzlin' rain
Fightin' and trouble are my middle name
I was raised in the cambric by an old mama lion
Cain't no high-toned woman make me walk the line

Chorus

If you see me comin' better step aside
A lotta men didn't, a lotta men died
One fist of iron, the other of steel
If the right one don't getcha then the left one will

Chorus
