160 Accubond 7mm load velocity??

I just loaded up some 160 grain accubonds in my 7mm rem mag. I used 60 grains of IMR4350 and CCI large rifle magnum primers. I'm shooting a Remington 700 with a 24" barrel. Can anyone tell me the muzzle velocity of this load? My nosler manual doesn't have the accubond and I can't find max loads or velocity estimates anywhere. Any info would be great on this bullet and powder, but I would especially like to know if I'm within safe limits and what the muzzle velocity is? Thanks in advance. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif

You have to have a long tape measure and someone to hold it while you shoot. Using a digital stop watch you time the bullets over a 25 foot black and Decker tape.

All kidding aside no you need a chrono. I paid a hundred bucks for mine at Cabela's and it's one of the best tools for loading I've ever purchased.

Usually no two rifles, even of the same manufacture and caliber will shoot the same velocity. Here's the one I'm using and it's been a dandy.

There are couple of caveats in using a chrono. Follow the directions. If your shooting gas check bullets keep the chrono a little closer than you normally shoot. I broke the readout screen on mine when a gas check separated.

You will note this 300 Ultra-mag has pretty good velocity with 180 grain factory loads. I was impressed.

Here is a friend shooting his 300 Rem Ultra-mag over mine

Thanks for the tip guys. I'd love to get a chronograph, but have about 7 other things in line before it. In due time I guess. I'll definitely try to go the ebay route. Until then I'll just try to go off the velocity estimates listed in the manuals. Thanks again.

Zero at 100 yards, then do a drop check at 400-500 yards, if you can. That will give you a ballpark figure on your velocity, if you have a ballistics program.

Crony's are ok for load development, but the more I use mine, the less I trust it....

according to my Load From A Disk program, 60grains is a fairly mild load, you should be pushing that 160gr at 2750-2850fps with your 24" tube. Ive noticed that due to this program being non-primer specific it will not give exact velocity. But this should be fairly close.
