A few early migrants are working their way north. These guys won't go any further. A little corn scattered along the fields edge across the hayfield brought a few in today. 157 yards from my barn to the woods line. I can walk from my house to the barn with out them getting a visual on me.

Beautiful rig. I've been wanting to build a. 17AH for a long time. I have dies, and a reamer. I'm slowly gathering parts for my build.

What bullet you pushing in your. 17ah?

I've done load development for the 20 grain Vmax, 20grn. Berger, 20 grn. Nagel and Midways 20 grn Varmint Nightmare. This is not a picky rifle, it shoots all these bullets @.5 and under with virtually no POI change.

This is a target I was starting load development with, using 3 different bullets, and shooting FF loads. First target on the left was 20 grn. Vmax, The one flyer was first shot cold bore.

featherbomb, that is one terific looking outfit! I always did prefer the #3 over the #1 Ruger. I have an old long Unertl 14pr scope that I would love to put on one just like that. Let the feathers fly!

Hard to beat the 20gr Vmax in the 17AH. The two were made for each other IMO. Too much fun.

I do use the 25gr Berger backed down to 3000fps in one of mine for fox, but the 20gr Vmax around 3700 is where the fun is.

Yes, it is. It works great for this rifles application.

Thanks, I am thinking of getting one that size for my .204 for shooting prone. Where I live I have alot of opportunities at shooting crows from a good distance with alot of time to set up. Figure it would be fun to get in the prone position and pick them off.
