.17 fireball

I hear alot about the 39gr Blitzkings in the 204. I was just getting ready to try some in my CZ, what kind of load are you shooting with them Hidalgo?
 
I was talking to one of my serious coyote buddies and he pointed me toward Berger 40 gr HP. I picked up a box the other day and as soon as I get my wreck of a reloading bench cleaned up, I will reload some. I have heard too many good things to believe that the 204 isn't a good coyote caliber, just have to find the right pill. Thanks
 
I guess no ones heard of a 6mm rimfire cartridge&rifle, i read somewhere that remington made some a while back.No ideas on any doubles that take .17 w/ a 12 or 20 gauge .

You got the wrong millimeters...

Remington made a 5mm Rimfire a bunch of years ago. Most have been converted over to a custom wildcat called the 5mm Craig.

The 5mm Rimfire ammo gets about $75-90 a box at gun shows.

There is no currently made O/U that take a 17.

I have had drt kills on coyote with 17 rem. 25 gr. hollowpoints at 3,650 fps.Dont use varmint 25 gr.made by berger,to fragile.nagel or hornady 25 gr. hollow points.
 
I love the 17FB.
I never get tired of people talking about it, even when it eventually turns into a 204, a 5mmRem combo gun, and five years later, a 17Rem.

midogman, I have a 17 fireball and have lost coyotes with it, its a great gun for fox, bobcat, good for yotes at close ranges. Its a 100 yard and less gun for yotes. since they are discontinued the only place that you might find a new one is gunbroker or gunsamerica and it prolly wont be a vtr model. I would also look at the new 17 hornet I have one in a savage model 25 and am starting to like it more than my fireball.

I've never had it happen to me, but IIRC, it was right here on PM that a guy claimed that a 220 Swift will beckon to you from a gun store rack or a gun safe, and if you heed its call and take it home that you'll be a better person for it. I wonder if a 17 FB also has those magical powers?

"Stuff" obviously happens for a reason on the internet. And all of it is obviously true if it's in print.
 
I was on the remington site today and they still have a 17fireball listed for 700 stainless fluted, I dont remember exact name.

That's right.....the Swift can actually choose you. And make you a better person, and cause you to swell your chest out, and exchange knowing glances with others who were chosen. It's been documented.....here.

Respectfully, I'll have to disagree with an earlier post about the 17 Fireball being a 100 yd. max Coyote gun. I've taken 3 so far with mine this year at over 200 yds. Don't know what bullet he was using, but with the 30g Kindler Golds and Benchmark mine have all been DRT. Two shot in the chest, one in the shoulder.
