So the bug is stating to grow. What about the Browning T-bolt 17HMR? Anyone have experience with it. I might go for the south paw version if I get one and the reporst are decent.

So educate me or disabuse me of the idea..

All I really know is from selling a few. The quality looks typical Browning, very nice! I like the straight pull bolt too. If it was for me, I would get the heavy barrel version. I just like the way they look. As far as accuracy, don't have a clue other than what people have told me and they said they shot good.

I have a target/varmint model. It's a nice gun. I've had a lot of HMR's they are all about the same. They have nice magazines and a nice finish. I really like just pulling back the bolt and pushing it forward is quick for follow up shots when I'm calling raccoons.

I have a 17 T-bolt and love the little rifle! The magazine holds 10 rounds, is very easy to load, and has had zero failures to feed in over 1500 rounds. The accuracy is outstanding for a rim fire. I would rate the rifle a solid ten out of ten stars.

You guys are expensive to hang around! I was thinking maybe an A17, just because I don't own a 17HMR, and I am embarrassed to type that.

I have been telling myself that a 17 WSM is good enough. But it isn't. So now I see this Browning T-Bolt, and some guy on youtube is shooting a 100 yard group that looks pretty impressive. I found a HB target version on a synthetic stock for $650. Kind of steep for a rim fire, but it is a Browning! I really have to stop hanging out here.

If I was going to spend the money, I'd spring for the walnut stocked heavy barrel. Might as well go for the gusto! They are sweet to look at as well.

I gave my brother a LH T-22 back in the 70's. It shot great. He pawned it to feed his habit years ago later. He's dead now but I always was a bit bitter over that as he did the same to my Dad's shotgun. I'd rather have him back then the guns but those holes never get refilled.

If I go this route it will be the wood stock. I just like the wood and I don't hunt in rain..LOL
