I am thinking about getting a 17 in a revolver. Does anyone have one? I was looking at a taurus tracker does anyone have a taurus and are they any good? thinks for the help.

I have not heard any good things about the .17 HMR in revolvers. I have one in a TC Contender that will shoot 1-inch 10 shot groups at 100 with no problem. Let us know what you find out.

I have a Taurus model 981 silhouette/hunter (stainless steel) 12 inch barrel .17 HMR. I got it on a trade from a friend. It"s still new in the box. It also comes with a scope mount.

There have been quite a few reports of poor performance by the Smith & Wesson offering over on RimfireCentral. Here is a link to one.....

I had a Taurus Tracker in .22 WMR for a while. It was one of the most accurate out-of-the-box handguns I've ever owned! Also had the best factory single-action trigger of any handgun I've ever owned. Downside was that the trigger pulls were heavy - but that was alleveated to some extent with springs from Wolff. The grips are kinda funky but really quite comfortable. The only reason I sold it was that the muzzle blast was too much to shoot without hearing protecting - and I can't see wearing muffs while hunting squirrels! I'd highly recommend the Tracker to anyone!

me!
