Curious, what did you get for H2O case weight? I picked 6 random pieces of once fired and they all held 14.8-14.9 grains of water. I checked each piece twice, just to double check my own consistency, and they all held the same both times I measured them.

I think if I were to test a lot of these little cases for H2O capacity I'd go get a big syringe with a large needle because those tiny little .17 cal openings are a real PITA to fill.

Lol.. i did make a trip out to the barn for a horse syringe

I will have to get my notes for that on the capacity but i had a bigger range of volume but also keep in mind this was 1200+ cases that i know were not all from the same lots number and IMO another reason for checking things out i had checked a few case weights and they ranged from 51.0 to 57.0 grains which should tell a person something!! I know that that does not give you the same same capacity because there are lots of things that effect total weight which is why you need to check capacity. I know some guys don't think it makes any difference and I will just let them keep thinking it

I think internal case volume always matters and the more consistent it is from case to case will always be a good thing. On larger cases a few tenths difference probably has considerably less affect than it does on these tiny little cases like the 17 Hornet.

At one time I thought I'd wait till I had a couple hundred once fired cases then load them on my Dillon but some of these powders that work well in the 17 Hornet, such as Lil gun & 296, seem to build a lot of pressure very easily with not much change in extra powder so I think I'll be loading these the old fashion way, one at a time.
