Figured I'd start a new thread rather than derail the factory ammo available one!
So yesterday I was finally able to track down some components for my 17HH.
A 1lb jug of lil gun (which I got for $25 from my buddy who owns my local gun shop) and 400 20gr V-max bullets.
Dies I got a good deal on them too from the same guy! He bought the dies over a year ago and hasn't had time to make any reloads, so he sold me a set of Redding dies for $70...$20 cheaper than I was able to find them anywhere else Canada wide!!
So with my components, with a lb of lil gun, I can expect roughly 700 rounds that's $0.036
bullets were $25 for 100 so 400 for $100 plus tax ([beeep] government 13%) that's $0.283
primers came out to 53.75 for 1000 that's $0.054
brass is the only area I'm lacking in, I have x25 from factory loads that's $1.175
minus the powder, bullet and primer from the factory and the brass is roughly $0.314 (after the first firing)
So I'll be able to load a round for $0.687 per round! about $0.35 of savings over factory on the first load.
Obviously every time I reload a piece of brass the price will go down $0.53 on the second firing
etc etc
I have another buddy who has a few boxes of empty factory stuff that doesn't reload, so I may be able to get another 25 pieces of brass which would make the cost go down even more!!
I'll be loading up some rounds tomorrow night and will hopefully be able to get out and do some shooting on Friday!
I'll be sure to get some pics of groups, I'm hoping they'll be as small as they've been with the factory loads!
