Does seem like it don't it? I think that it was $18 a 100 round bag back in the late 70's for the stuff. I thought that was high back then.

But signs of the times I guess. Don't think any reloading stuff is going to bargain priced ever again.

Thanks again, Mr Obama!

I saw it for about $40/100 last fall. Guess it is time to sell the once/twice fired I have if it is that expensive.

Well, it's all relevant I guess. Just depends on what a guy needs / wants. Expensive? yea, compared to what I have been used to paying for brass most of my life. Actually, I think $40 / 100 is too much. But, those 300 pieces will most likely outlive me, so I figure it's worth it.

I saw .17 Rem brass a couple of months earlier for $67 / 100 at another place, but it didn't last long. It was gone in short order. Other than Gunbroker, I have not been able to find any anywhere, in gun shops or searching the Internet day after day.

Just this morning I saw some on Gunbroker, prices are like this: 20 pieces for $18, 40 pieces for $35, and 100 pieces for $80. There is one bid on a bag of 100 that is currently up to $39 with three bids. It will go higher.

Not long ago I saw a post a where members were talking about the scarcity of .17 Remington brass. One member made a comment suggesting the guy find components before purchasing a rifle. Sound advice in my opinion, given our current political climate and situations with ammo and components of all kinds. Kind-of like rushing out right now to buy the latest .22 rimfire. Do have ammo for it? Can you find any?

Price!? If you have vigorously searched for 17 Remington brass lately like I have and haven't found any for sale, then $63 / 100 doesn't sound so bad. Sometimes you buy it when you find it, not wait until you need it and then not be able to get any.

Anyway, just letting everyone know where to find some.

Agreed David.

The way I see it, if you want it buy it.

I've missed the Lapua 223 brass like 6 times now on Midway. By the time I see they have it, it's gone.

These days , if you wanna play you gotta pay.

I hope the 17Rem treats you well.

When I was working up loads for a couple of 17 rem's I used 8 pieces of brass over and over until the primer pockets would no longer hold a primer. They made it nine reloads. I did it again with 10 pieces and I did loose a couple early to split necks but again primer pockets loosened at Nine rounds of reloading. So you have enough brass to wear out that barrel.

Oh and Tim I just checked and Midway is showing Lapua .223 available.... better hurry!

$51.00 a bag last year at Scheels and a local shop here.

And since I highly doubt it is going to be put on the top of Remington's to do list any time soon...
