Ive been shooting a 17 Remington for five years. I really enjoy it. Ive been reloading wit H 4895 and 25 gr Bergers and 30 gr Blackholes Remington 7.5.
What do you guys use and what do you like about it? Powder bullets etc.

I run H414(W760 is the same) and either the 29 gr WCD bullet or a 29 gr custom made bullet(has a slightly larger metplat than the WCD hollow point). Rem 7.5 and a Lilja 25.5" 1 in 9 twist sporter contour on a Rem M700. Wore out 2 factory barrels shooting mostly red fox before the Lilja. No real issues in cold temps with H414 velocity, but it is temp sensitive in hot temps so I would have to lower charge weights for prairie dogs or summer coyote/chucks.
My AR is a 1/10 Shilen, I run 25 gr Bergers or Hornady hollow points. I run Rem brass, IMR 4320 usually. Started shooting the 17 rem in 1986.

Mines not 17 Remington, but I’ll chime in. I have shot a 17 Tactical for about 17 years now, and have had great luck with Varget and RL15. As far as bullets go, I have shot mostly 30 grain Kindlers at around 4000 fps. I have also shot a lot of the old 25 grain Berger Match bullets and 26 grain Genco’s at close to 4100 fps. Lots of fun to use on Coyotes…..

Mine's not a .17 Rem either, but in my .17 Predator I've been running Big Game and 30 Gold's forever. Very effective coyote medicine. I'd guess the BG might be a tad too slow for the Rem. case though.

I’ve always thought that the big .17’s shouldn’t be able to kill Coyotes like they do but I’ve just seen it to many times. Kinda magical actually.😁

It is kinda magical. And very addictive. This is a short video clip I put together 20-something years ago, at the request of Todd Kindler. Chad, you've probably seen it too many times already. I still drag it out once every few years though. It's kind of an eye opener for some. If @17remhunter hasn't seen it already, I bet he'll like it. It's only a minute long.

YES 17!!! a 17 caliber bullet if its the right construction for the job and sped up to 4 grand, will flat out kill the crap out of critters. it punches above its weight, often to the point of being shocking. its the most underrated caliber there is. few get to see what they will do because your average guy just doesn't shoot all that much or have access to the supply of varmints to get a feel for it. suppress it and the recipe is complete. You can often see the shock of the hit before the varmint dies, or explodes in a popping like situation.

been hearing some spring chirping lately, soon the 17 fireball will be out reaping the whirlwind on varmints.
