Who still makes a 17 remington? I have been trying to find one and was about to just settle for the 17 remington fireball but I see that remington has discontinued the fireball.
 
I think CZ is still doing one in the varmint and there is the Cooper 21. You could do a 17rem AR upper as well or any of the T/C single shots with a custom barrel.
 
Better than a cooper (to me) i took my tikka t3 223 stainless and had a shilen 17rem barrel installed. It shoots everything into less than 3/8 inch and total package is 925$ installed. Several coyotes and an unlucky crow @ 300 yards for last years tally and cant be happier, although now I'm working on an AR upper in 117rem for this next season ( too many triples called in).
