17HMR and bobcats??

Could of happened with a 22 mag too. You probably were mistaken in your shot placement. It turns shoulders into hamburger and leaves a pin hole in the hide with no exit. I lung shot a deer with a bow that went over a mile. Weird stuff happens. 17 hmr with fragmenting bullets is a good red fox round for this area where we can only use rimfire. I also own a 22 mag but it stays home. Just dropped one last night. As for bobcat I can't comment. Don't have any here. No chance of me coming back to read this thread. I just stirred the pot.

rimfire only for some of us. Shotguns range is too limited.
 
Could have mistaken the shot, never found the critter but I'd lay a weeks pay on it being a sold hit. I have a 22 mag as well, i would be more comfortable with a 40 grainer but I still wouldn't take it out.
