Since this was my first coyote with my new Horizon 22 Creedmoor, my sample size is only one, but based on it, I would say it was darn friendly.

I went deer hunting this morning I g an all was quiet and a little foggy. About 45 minutes after daylight I could hear something in the brush and about 50 yards away a squirrel (I think( ran across with a coyote in hot pursuit. It was just a flash. Less than a minute later I saw the coyote cut across the end of my lane about 200 yards out.

I grabbed my phone and pulled up the Convergent app and played baby cottontail for about 15 seconds or so and pasuded it. Then about 30-60 seconds later played it again for about 15 seconds. I didn’t want to play it continuously because I didn’t want it to run in hard and fast since I only had a narrow shooting lane to work with.

A few minutes later the coyote came out about a 100 yards down the lane smelling the ground. She was quartering hard towards me when I shot she dropped and never twitched. I went and drug her out of the lane in case a deer showed up and sat another hour and a half without seeing anything else.

It was a big female, and I couldn’t even find my bullet hole or an exit. After taking a picture I skinned her back to see what the damage was. The entrance was in front of the shoulder toward the chest with meat damage but I couldn’t find the exact hole in the hide, there was also blood shot in the arm pit behind the shoulder on the same side. I didn’t open her up, but I’m guessing it travelled down the body towards the hip. Zero hide damage.

If any of you have taken a coyote with the 80 grain eldx in the 22 CM, I would be interested in your results.

So far the body count on the 22 CM is 2 hogs, one aoudad, and a coyote.

"Convergent app" Have that on my phone but haven't had any results yet. Got a yote with 110 vmax @ 150 yds, (300 BO, 2400 fps) never could fine entrance or exit hole. Didn't weigh but she was just a bit smaller than yours.
