I finally had time to finish these calls, this week.
I actually started them way back in October.
But, I got swamped with orders (THANK YOU!!).
I am calling these "Coyote in the Crosshairs".
The idea for these howlers, was pitched to me by PM member "flintrock".
Moderators: Because of the total number of photos, I am going to have to split this into 2 posts...but yet in the same thread.
I hope y'all will grant me that leeway, thanks.
Let's run two separate auctions, on these calls.
One auction for each call.
And, let's have the auctions end March 10th @ 10am CST.
Thank you for looking.
And thank you for your bids!!
There are not videos for these calls, as the wind this morning is already too high for the mic on my little digital camera.
Now...Call #1......
As you can see, the horn is mostly black, with some white around the bell end.
I had hoped that the "coyote" would stand out more, in the pics. It looks better in person, than it does in the pics.
(I thought about painting the "relief" another color, such as "tannish brown", to make the coyote stand out more. But I was afraid it would make things look too gaudy [sp].)
The "scope" outline, and the "crosshairs" are painted white...simply to add contrasting colors.
I had intended the "crosshairs" to be "raised" like the scope outline is.
However, I just couldn't get the arthritis in the ol' hands to allow me to make those lines that thin.
So, they are simply painted on (and then the excess paint was removed, to get them thin enough).
The toneboard is a YDD3.
The reed is a hand-cut .014" mil mylar reed.
The call can do vocals ranging from pup/"basic" female/"basic" male/raspy older coyote.
It also does great coyote distress!
And this sucker has MUCHO VOLUME!!!!!!
The call measures 7-3/4" along the outer curve.
The bell is 2" OD.

Part two...with info & photos of Call #2...are forthcoming...in the next post.
