The Tac20 will do what the 204 will do with 1-1.5grs LESS powder. HTH

Not hardly.

No smaller case with less powder, will equal a larger case with more powder, in equal guns - never happened, never will.

.

I agree

With both cartridges at the same pressures the larger will prevail.

Not only do I stand corrected by those that know much more than myself on this,, I will gracefully bow to the "experts" on this matter. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif So I will take all of the homework on "case efficiency" that I've done & throw it all away just for you. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif I will go back to square one & just be an uninformed poster. Thanks for showing me the light. It is appreciated. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

As far as the equal guns are concerned,, forgive this idiot for not realizing the Tac20 & the 204 were equal guns. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Yes N133 is the same as VV133.
The load in the target has not been chorographed yet. But other loads I run over the screens are so close it's a push. I'm not interested in missing them faster. I'll stay with this load. Lake City brass, 24.2 Gr of N133, 35 Bergers, and CCI BR4 primers. I'll post the MV next time I get the PACT I to the range and it isn't raining.

For you that don't think the TAC can match the .204 go to the URL below.

Read the numbers and wheep!

Looks pretty even to me, all depends on who is doing the loading. Nothing to weep about there?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Jay Johnson,

Real good group! I looked up the 16fss and see that it only comes in 204 ruger and 223 rem are you refering to the 204
or did you rebarel a 223?
thanks in advanced Jonathan

I bought the rifle used it was a .204 and the previous owner switched it to TAC 20. He had used Sierra bullets in it and with out much luck. I tried them as well. First gun I've had that wouldn't shoot reasonable groups with them. Went to the Bergers and it shot up a storm. The barrel is still the light sporter contour not the heavier one as the 12FV has. Has a 1 in 9 twist loves 35 and 40 grain bullets. This is just a calling rifle.

Something I learned a long time ago, most PD's I shoot don't seem to know the difference between a well placed 300 yd. shot that started out at 3600 fps or 3800 fps. But then again I may be shooting unsophisticated PD's.
