2006 Shot Show

We had a great time at the show! We got to meet a few people that I have been watching on T.V. since I can remember! You know the old saying "If you dont want to be disappointed, dont meet your idols" That was way off the mark. Everyone was really great. Jay, How come I have to Aunt Jeff?

OK. I'll refrain from calling you Aunt Jeff from now on. I also had to promise I wouldn't refer to Brent and JD as "the girls" anymore. I actually have been trying to be more sensitive towards other's feelings. My wife says I do have some good qualities hidden under a mushroom somewhere.

It was real sad to hear about your hat Jeff. Should I send you one from my collection?

For those who may not know, both Jeff Thomason and Todd Woodall (of Texas Predator Pursuit) are a couple of the most likeable fellas you could ever want to meet. THEY KNOW COYOTES. It was fun watching Jeff sniff around like an old Texas hounddog. BTW... I somehow managed to get home with several of your videos. I'll count them up and let you know. Found them in my Merse. Haven't completely unloaded yet so I don't know what all I ended up with.

It was GREAT to see those who I know and GREAT to meet those who I didn't know. Jay I need you to call me when you have a minute. Thanks, Dave.

Buker, All you have to do is rearrange your priorities. Cancel a couple of those trips to TX and come to Globe and a few other places.

Cancel trips to texas???? Are you out of your mind???? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Ok, maybe I can work an extra trip on once in a while... We'll just have to see.

All I know for sure is that everytime one of these things happens I look at the pics and sure wish I could have been there.

This damned job sure gets in the way of my fun!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif

Hey Jay, let me look at my library of DVDs and see if I have their second. You can send one to me. They don't need them back now that they have hit the big time. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hey great pics.. I have also met Dan thompson and his wife they are great people. Infact they gave my 2 year old son a pc-3 for free because of how well he called. they thought it was very funny. Again thanks for all the great pics

Crapshoot,

I just had a thought. You know, if GS would adopt me, I could move to Texas and wouldn't have to burn vacation time going there. Then I'd have all kinds of time to come to Globe and the shot show, etc. It works for GS... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

And, besides, Waco has a new Hooters!! Gerald, I was gonna give you a call and meet you there for lunch but the place was packed with it's grand opening crowd.

No problem Gerald. Just let me know and it's in the mail. The boyz can just swing by your place to pick it up.
They also wouldn't commit on a time for their next release. Must have something real special in it. All I got was grins.

Thank you for introducing me to Howlin' Al Morris.

Also, when HS gets that new unit ready, tell them to send one my way so Higgins and I can dunk test it (smiley thingie goes here). How do you guys do that! I've looked a bunch of times and I don't have those things on my keyboard.

Buker,

We were walking with Crapshoot when I saw some Hooter girls and yes your name did come up. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Gerald,

I've got some pics of Jay you might be interested in. We need to talk. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif:)

To all that was there to share this event, want to say thanks for helping make it such a fun trip. I'd also like to offer a special thanks to Lance, man did he work hard. Next year you should bring your wife. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Dave,

your a nut! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I would also like to comment on one thing I find common amongst predator hunters. They are for the most part a super bunch of guys that stick together as a team for the advancement of the sport. As Jay has already mentioned, predator hunting received a lot more attention this year than it has in the past. This is a testament to the hard work and character of those involved in promoting the sport. This goes for those that are presently promoting it and especially to those that got it off the ground way back when. Some guys think that by promoting the sport, this will be a detriment. I disagree with this, and to prove my point, I saw major players in the outdoor industry over the last year and weekend open their eyes to where "Predator" Calling is headed. This will benifit the callers in the long run by having more and better products developed for us. We will, in the near future not be the "red headed step child" of the industry. Sure this will bring more callers into the woods but contrary to what many beleive, we have a long way to go before we have to many. If you believe we have to many predator hunters just wait until the next election and then re-evaluate that stance.

Buker,

Should have been there. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

Jay,

Thanks for hauling us around. I apologize for bailing on the ride in the Buick, but I never had the chance to ride in a hummer limo before. I didn't forget you at the door though, did I? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I felt very privilaged to be included in such a great weekend. Thanks again from Lana and I for such an enjoyable weekend.

Good Hunting

Byron /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No problem Bryon. I was tempted myself. Thanks for letting the bouncer know. And thanks for letting me know the cows were loose. Also I sure hope Lana comes to the next one so I can have a dancing partner again. She follows much better than you.

Yeah, I agree. Dave is a nut.
Mike and his son Steve were in rare form too.

Hey Guys,

Of course I agree with what everyone else said. We had a great group of guys promoting the sport. Guys that could come to a BBQ at my house anytime, all top notch good ol boys.

Mike and Steve Dillon had a very impressive booth featuring all their current models and showing off a few prototypes that will blow your mind. Mike and Steve are two of the nicest and down to earth guys you will ever meet. I doubt there was a person their who didn’t know who FoxPro was.

It was great to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones.

This was our first chance to meet Dave of Coyote Jakes.
Needless to say that Dave is on stage ALL THE TIME!! He missed his calling as a stand up comic. Dave do you need my address to?

To everyone in attendance, we had a great time and look forward to seeing you again.

Mike and his son Steve /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif LOL

Take care,

Todd

Hey Buker, Seriously where is that Hooters picture taken. I am almost positive I had her for a waitress the other day! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

It was great to see and meet all you that stopped by the booth. I did not have a chance to even walk the floor in our own building much less the tents and whole other room. Those of you that did let us in on what you saw. Hope to see ya'll next year!

Hey Rod,

Sorry we never got back around to meeting you. We waited for awhile but you seemed to have your hands full. Look forward actually getting to talk to ya. We stopped by a few times after that but always seemed to just miss ya.

Take care,

Todd

Rod, It was great to meet you as well. Next time just stick Byron in your booth for a while so you can get out. You know he's is own PR man!

One thing I do know and thats if our sport is in the hands of Jeff, Todd and Byron, the future looks very bright! All stand up guys! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Lance, Thanks for turning me on to the free "Schawg" (sp?). Everyone should get some free schawg once in a while! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
