Going to try and get my Browning Micro Hunter 22 Hornet some action this season. Picked up 2 today, both around 120 yards. Factory 35 grain Hornady Vmax gets it done.

Good looking rifle and an excellent cartridge for g-hogs! (y) Keep killin' 'em!!!

I purchased a new rifle for the same purpose, but haven't had it out yet.
Bergara BMR 22 Mag. with a SigSaur Whiskey 3 4-12x50 scope and it likes Hornady 30 gr. V-Max ammo.

I was groundhog hunting yesterday. 5 hours. Farmer showed me 8 to 10 holes on Sunday and said best time is noon or later.
So, I got everything set up by noon - zero. I left around 5 pm. He sent me a picture from 6:30 pm and 2 of the fuzzy critters were standing right on top of the holes I babysat!! Don't you dare laugh Mike!!

I don't have the groundhogs, instead I have their evil cousin the rock chuck. Though, they both have similar behaviors.
This time of year whenever I step outside of my office I glass the back hill. Dang chucks get in there and dig there way to china. Occasionally, they dig a burrow into the canal and it causes problems, mainly flooding.
Anyway, on Tuesday I glassed the hill and there was a chuck at about two hundred yards out on a rock. I went back into the office grabbed my rifle and shooting sticks set up on the deck ready to take the shot and the darn thing had disappeared already. I spent all of 12-15 seconds getting gear and setting up and poof! Gone just like that. Haven't seen the rascal since, but I'll keep looking.

I have not even been out yet. last few years been letting them populate a little in the spring , Im usually pretty murderous on the local population. Have a few spots im going to set up for some 5-600yd shots. -
