Fiocchi 204 brass

Anybody reloading this brass?

Really wondering if the primer
flash holes are off center like
their 223 brass?

I was pretty sure I have reloaded the extrema brass, as regular brass no extra steps. I had some boxes of a buddies factory once fired, so I one shot lubed 15 and setup my RCBS comp fl die. All 15 decapped and sized normally, then I primed a few using BR4 primers with the RCBS press priming arm. Primer pockets measured 0.124, the CCI primers are 0.120. I looked through my reloads on the shelf and found a box of extrema reloads, that I have shot 20 or so. With sale price under 25.00 sometimes, don't think I would process. But I have done 50 before without issues.

Why go through that effort?

Huh, I one time bought a bunch of Fiocchi 223
with 40gr v-max on top for under $20.00 a box
of 50.

They shot very well, and I thought I would have
a bunch of brass to load back up.

I was very disappointed in the miss alignment of
the flash hole in the primer pockets. I did sort
out a batch of good ones to load up. Those have
held up well. I don't remember them having crimped
primers.

I do use a lot of Lake City brass, and I do have
to remove the crimp on those.

I thought if it was good brass in the 204 factory
loading I might try some and use the brass for
my Hand loads.

Seen some for 24.95 a box of 50,

Thanks so far for the responses.

Crimped, staked... call it what you will.

I got some pull down .204 Fiocchi brass a few months ago from
Graf&Sons and loaded up a few rounds but haven't shot any yet.
It is primed brass so I cannot say anything about flash holes.
None of it had crimped primer pockets. Wonder why they crimp
some, and not others?? Weird.

It definitely is not Lapua quality or Lake City, but for blasting or hunting why not reload it. If new and shooting under moa, off center flash hole should not really matter.

I messed up the decapping pin, expanding ball and bent the
shaft in the hornaday resizing die. After I got new parts
if I went slow, and some times rotating the brass I could
size the brass.

That was a hassle, been using a lot of Lake city since.

I size slow and use 4-5 seconds of dwell time at the top(end) of the press stroke. I do that sizing all brass, seems to reduce spring back. I ran the rest of the 50 through my 204 comp die, pulled the sizing die apart to clean and saw no issues with recapping pin/expander. Next time I will try my Redding 204 bushing neck die, I don't expect an issue with that either.

I know this thread is kinda old, but I finally bought a box of Fiocchi 204 factory ammo.

I found out that the flash holes are indeed off center in the primer pockets.

That alone means I'll pass on buying 204 Fiocchi for reloading brass.

I also bought some Nosler dogtown 204 factory ammo, flash holes are centered.

Both shot well, but according to my precision mic gauge the shoulders on the Fiocchi

are set back much more than the Nosler dogtowns.

Well then! I guess that means you will be giving me all that once fired brass then, right? Take you to lunch for it. Mexkin food OK as usual?

You might end up with it, I'll have too show you the
inconsistency in the shoulder measurements.

The Fiocchi was just one box of 50

Hey- I'm always looking for another excuse as to why I missed what I was shooting at. I always appreciate anything you can do to help me with that.
