22-250, 1;14 twist, load?

If you ever have the misfortune of having to go to non lead bullets for legal purposes, their length per grain weight comparison to lead bullets can also change. In the case of copper, they will be longer per the same grain weight than lead bullets. Less case capacity also goes into the equation for accurate loads.
 
14 Twists only with the 63g Sierra, Remington 700's. About a max load of IMR 4350 with a win primer. 63gj Sierra is a VERY accurate bullet, and the 55g Semi point is also very accurate.
 
50gr Vmax, FED 210, and H380. Great load for 22-250 with 1/14 twist. Super accurate, and puts the doggies down.
 
I don't reload but a friend has been making some test loads for my Tikka .22-250 1-14. 50 gr NBT over CFE 223 powder.
Getting over 3800 fps chrono reading, with 5/8 in 5 shot group, then 1/2 in 5 shot group.
Now trying to get under 1/2 in.
 
I have a Rem 700 sps 22-250 with a 1-14 twist. Most of the time the 14 twist barrels like the 40-50 grain bullets. However my rifle loves a Sierra 55gr spbt gameking over Varget. It really all depends on your rifle and what it likes to shoot. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

I also have had great success reloading for the 22-250. I just put 38 grains of Varget behind a 50grain Hornady VMAX and I got a .89 inch group at 200 yards. Amazing accuracy with this round.
 
FWIW, I've had 2 bull 24" 12 twists. 1-Savage, 1-Shillen. Clovers printed at 100 w/ 25x optic, same load with both. 55g sierra Blitzking over Varget. Good luck!

Amen to that! Before I escaped Kalifornia and moved back to America, I was forced to abandon my beloved 55-grain Ballistic Tips and switch to Varmint Grenades. Can't remember the precise weight I first tried, but they were around 50 grains and didn't group well at all, so I had to move down to 36 grainers.
