I'm running a 45 gr Sierra Varminter with 36 gr of Varget in my 22-250 and it flat out shoots best out of everything I've tried, anyone have any experience using this bullet coyote hunting? I'll be putting it to use this winter.

I shot the sierra lead tip spt, high velocity in a 22*250 and Swift around 4000 fps and forty two hundred fps respectively, just killed everything, no splashes ever. I shot IMR 4895 in the 22/250 and AA2700 in the swift.

There is a forty five grain bullet that is made for the hornet, this bullet is a round nose bullet...not a good thing at two fifty velocities!

Varget is a little slow burning for the forty five, probably is going to burn very dirty. I am shooting 37g with a fifty five grain sierra at 3700 fps.

We also shot a bunch of the sierra 40g HP that was designed for a sniper bullet for the LAPD so that it would not shoot a hole through a person's skull. This bullet performed great also, and speed was high with forty eight ninety five, we named this load the "cat bullet" because it just shot holes through bob cats.

I've the 45 grain Sierra Varminters in a .223. On coyotes, they work very well. When I put them in the right place, I get a .22 caliber entry and no exit. One time, I did accidentally grab the 45 grain Hornets, but it was my own fault - they do say Hornet right on the side. The Hornets still work OK in a .223, but I wouldn't put them in a 22-250.
