22-250 60 grain Sierra or Hornady

IMO Not sure that you are going to get the best results with a 60gr in a 14 twist. Might get a better groups with a 50, 55, or my favorite 53gr vmax. I don't get blowout any more than anyone else i hunt with that shoots other loads and rounds.
I loaded them for accuracy based on the load charts in the books for the powder. I found that a little slower load with a 53gr still gave me hold fur at 300 with a 100 zero and .33moa with Varget.
if you are starting from scratch, you may want to look into the newer XBR powder, it meters well, has the same type of properties as Varget (temp stable) and is a lot easier to find. Try a pound of it and see how it does. Couple of my local stores laugh when you ask for Varget, but have the 8208XBR in 8# jugs.

Length is the limiting factor and both sierra and hornady 60hp are shorter bullets than the 55vmax, which will also shoot in a 14twist. 55sbk are a tad bit longer than the vmax and although I havent tried them yet, sierra reps told me if I can drive them fast enough, 3650 or 3700fps IIRC there is a good chance they will stabilize also.
ETA: I have shot the 60 sierra out to rivht around 425yrds with good results. Ill look if I have a gong picture and post up later.

My 1 in 14 won't shoot either of those 55's decent. I'm afraid 60's for me would be "minute of elephant". Drives tacks with 50's though.

The Sierra HP and Hornady HP/SP are shorter than those plastic tip bullets. The one that might give fits in a 14 twist if it is twisted a bit loose would be the HP Hornady, longest of the bunch.
Hornady SP 60 is shorter than the Noz or Hornady 50 grain poly tips.

My shilen 14 twist in 22/250 shot those 60g Sierra's into a single ragged hole with a max load listed in the Nosler manual of IMR 4350, primer choice did matter and I think that I remembered using Win primers.
60g Sierra and 60g Hornady will stabilize in a 14T, USUALLY. I may have just lucked up with the 60g Nosler in my Shilen 14twist, but dang...some kind of shore nuff accuracy was there.
I would not skip on the 60g Hornady SP as it would not be as tough as the 60g Sierra.

I used to shoot the 60gr hornady SP in 22-250 and it worked very well. Don't remember any big messes or anything bad at all.

Found the pics I was looking for.
I didnt write down exact yardage but IIRC this was around 425 yrd range. Cant say what the wind was for certain but its rare to have no or minimal wind here. As you can see 1 got away from me a bit but still a very good group IMO.
