I loaded them for accuracy based on the load charts in the books for the powder. I found that a little slower load with a 53gr still gave me hold fur at 300 with a 100 zero and .33moa with Varget.
if you are starting from scratch, you may want to look into the newer XBR powder, it meters well, has the same type of properties as Varget (temp stable) and is a lot easier to find. Try a pound of it and see how it does. Couple of my local stores laugh when you ask for Varget, but have the 8208XBR in 8# jugs.

You are getting the 53 V-Max to stabilize in the 14 twist? That is one long bullet, definitely longer than either of the 60 grain HP's mentioned or the SP Hornady.
