22-250 bullets for coyotes

You guys that are having good results shooting 55gr sierra btsp 1365s what powder and how much? I'm shooting a 1:14 twist Remington 700 22-250. Currently shooting 45gr factory Winchester white box JHPs but am starting to get into some reloading.

I shoot these in my 22-250AI with Varget. 3780FPS and little bitty groups. They hit pretty hard!!

I don't shoot a 22-250 but have shot a 220 Swift since the late 70's. I have shot a lot of different bullets over the years and many will do a great job but the bullet I have been shooting the last number of years and my favorite all time bullet for my Swift is the Sierra 55g HPBT #1390.
I don't get exits on coyotes and it puts them down where they stand. I shoot it using IMR 4064. I stocked up and probably have enough bullets and powder to last me many more years using that combination.

I an hunting partners killed a lot of coyotes in Mexico with:

55g sierra spt
55g Semi point when the leade got long, this is a very, very accurate bullet
55g Sierra Boat tail hp
55g Sierra boat tail spt

52g Sierra bt, match
53g sierra flat base match

contrary to what many think, the match bullets do not have thicker jackets, they simply have higher quality control for jacket thickness uniformity, the 55g Sierra Sptbt and 55g Sierra bthp also have a Match Grade jacket, sorted for quality control.

Of the bunch, the Sierra 55g bthp is the toughest, call them and they will tell you the same thing.

After they shut down Mexico to American hunters hunting without guides, in S. Arizona we used the 22/250 AI with 55g Nosler ballistic tips, never failed us.

I use that in a 223AI and love it. Extremely accurate in that rifle.

I've had two old school rugers, one with a sporter, and one with a varmint barrel, and that has been their favorite.

Hornady 52 grain BTHP,55gr Sierra HP and depending on shot placement 55gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip have done alright on fur for me. I'd probably pick the 55 grain Sierra HP's as the most fur friendly that I've found so far.

Remington 55gr. SP's are the least fur friendly that I've shot. Hornady 50 grain Superformance do alright. I'm just not really impressed with their stopping power in some instances. Facing or broadside coyote they do fine. On a coyote running straight away, not so much. It seems like they don't have the ability to punch through bone that a good hollowpoint does.

I have shot 50 grain Berger Target HPs for years. Berger stopped making them but still have some supply left. After it's gone, going to try 52 and/or 55 gr Berger Target HPs.

I've reloaded for years so have no problem changing things up to make any bullet work in this gun just need something to save the pelts. So what are y'all using. I'm not biased to any one manufacturer either. I'll shoot anything just looking for some advice from guys that know. Thanks

If you want some numbers I can help... Out of the last bunch we took to the skinner (130) only 3 had to be sewn up, that's awful good performance regarding a bullet coming from a 22-250. We are using the 60 grain Raptors from cutting edge bullets. I have a promo code for a purchase if you are interested.
