22-250 pet load?

I bought a bunch of 22-250 Lapua brass years ago before it all dried up, otherwise I’d probably be in the same boat.

I remember thinking how expensive it was for that brass. lol Wish I could go back in time I’d buy a ton more.

Boy is that a true statement. It is a shame the 22-250 is getting harder to shop for. I still love mine. What a great rifle.

I have around 100 pieces of brass. Half Winchester and Half Hornady. I've been looking for more for 5 or 6 months and haven't seen any. I'm not sure what's up with that. I have 3 22-250s to feed and all 3 shoot different loads. 100 pieces doesn't go far.
Besides that my newest load is 34.5 gr of N550 under a 77smk. Shoots well under an inch out of a Tikka

What kind of speeds are you getting out of that load?

One of mine has a Douglas 26" heavy barrel. It is a 14 twist and shoots 50 vmax into tiny groups. I tried Varget, shot great, H380 shot great, and CFE 223 which may have been the best and only required 37 grs. to get 3,900 fps. I never pushed it any harder, but had plenty of room left.

My hunting rig has an 18" barrel and I shoot it suppressed. It shoots sub .5 moa regularly with either AR-Comp or IMR 8208 XBR. I can get about 3,700 out of it with either powder and the short barrel. Before I had it cut and threaded it shot Varget very good as well. It is a 12 twist and I shoot 50 vmax in it as well.

Hornady VMAX 55 over 43.0C grains Superformance, COL 2.370", F210M, HDY-brass => 3646 fps from 22" TC Venture, ymmv...

If you want insane speed along with accuracy hybrid100v is the go to powder that I found.
The burn profile should also be very forgiving on barrel life.

I know it is not a common powder but I can assure you that it is the best. I have done workups with every powder imaginable and it is my go to for 22-250 and 243.

Got good results with 53gn nosler varmaggedon bullets.

I use 100V as main powder for 6.5 CM target loads, does very well in that round.

If I remember correctly the 53gn varmaggedon reached 3789fps with h100v with superb accuracy just shy of pressure signs.
The powder is similar to varget in the aspect of when it gets to a compressed load the groups magically shrink

i shot 7 coyotes with the 50 gr Blitzking and they all got up and ran.off. I called Sierra and they told me that the Blitzking was designed for instant and total expansion to takevthe heads off prairie dogs and that i woukd lose as many coyotes as I found if I used it on coyotes. They told me their Game King was the best choice for coyotes.

I discovered that Leverevolution is a good speed powder out the 250. At the time I worked it up, I could not find mention of anyone else using it.

53 Hornady V-max
38.4 Lever
3x Win brass
WLR primer
~3915 FPS in 24" BHW 1-9 barrel.

* I had her up over 4000 FPS and still wasn't seeing any major pressure indicators, but I knew that was too much, so I backed off.

55 gr. Hornady V-Max over 36 grains of IMR-4895. OAL 2.330".
Hand coated the bullets with moly and getting 3700 fps.
5 shots - 1 ragged hole at 100 yards and all shots covered with a penny at 200 yards.
Savage Axis ll 22" heavy barrel, accu-trigger, Vortex Diamondback 6-24x50 FFP and it's suppressed.
