22 Creedmoor 8 twist with light (55gr) bullets?

A buddy of mine acquired a lot (3000) 22 caliber 55 gr bullets.
He has a 22/250, but it's very heavy, and at our advanced age It's prohibitive to carry it on long prairie dog hunts. He is thinking about getting a Ruger Amairican gen two, in 22 Creedmoor to use them up. They come in 8 twists or 7.5. Has anyone shot a 55 spear, I think, in an 8 twist? Will it still be accurate to shoot gophers and prairie dogs? Any real world experance?
 
At the speed that the 22 Creedmoor will shoot, the 8 twist barrel will have a fairly high probability of blowing up those bullets. Way too high in the RPM department. They go 'poof' about 40 yards down range and no hole in the target.

agree, I would think the 1-12" would be best although the 22-250 will blow up 40grs bullets (cup and core) regularly with a 1-14" twist.
22-250 and 22 creedmoor load data is very close in the velocity range . So I would think /assume that the varmint 55grs projectile would have a tendency to go poof as well in a faster than 12 twist.
 
I've shot 40gr Nosler BT in my 7 twist 22CM, 4150 fps with Hodgdon Superformance. Ten shots in 1moa at 200 yards

Only bullet that has gone poof in my 7t Creed is the new 69gr Sierra TVK. Shoots awesome if they do make it to the target, which is a 50/50 chance...69gr ELDvt shoot wicked too and always hold up
 
I am running 55 gr Nosler BTV @ 3800 fps and they play hell on coyotes. most don't exit as they blow up inside real quick. 8TW barrel
 
I shoot 55gr soft points outa my 26" 223 1:8 regularly with zero issues, getting to 3300 in speed. Even tried 35 gr vmaxes into the low 4k range but they were 50/50 past 75 yards. They were however super explosive.
