22 creedmoor and RL17

Is anyone using RL17 in the 22 creedmoor? Reason I ask is I put one together and of course the H4350 is hard to find now. I have some IMR4350 but more RL17 and it is closer to the H4350. Running 75gr hornadys, Eldm for now but also have some Amaxes. Almost all the data I find is H4350 and not much mention of the RL powders. Barrel is a Shilen 24" 8 twist. Running peterson brass. Thanks.

Powder valley had a shipment as of yesterday morning but its gone now. They get it about once a month. IMO, the H4350 is worth waiting for

If you already have both, try both and see what you think

I got out of the reloading when my kids started dropping, they are a little older now so stepping back in. I am trying to pick up a few things since the wildcat hit the stable. Thanks.

How did those loads group? I respectfully request that the units of measurement be in inches rather than millimeters, since us uncivilized savages from south of the border don't understand that metric stuff.

R#17 is a super hot burning powder. Combine this with fast twist, heavy bullet and fire cracking starts quick. I am not saying that it is a bad powder to use, speed comes at a price.

Special purpose loads for wind and longer range usually demand a speed ball. I have a (2)22/243 AI's, and I went with a very cool powder, AA2700 which has the approximate burning rate of 4350's, velocity of 4000 with the 60g HP in one barrel and 4100 in another barrel that is 3" longer.

I have a 31" barrel 6 XC, 8T and shoot the 105g A Max at 3250, bullets dumped in a hole with R#17. Fire cracking started within 400 rounds, brass formed from 308 Palma using 7 1/2 primers. The Accuracy node with H4350 is at 3150...I will stick with that.

As hunters, we often have to choose between performance and barrel life. I do not have extremes in temp swings like you guys in Canada have to put up with.
