.22 for coyotes

Curt, it would crack me up if someone actually suggested using a .22 for coyotes if the guy asked what gun to buy to shoot coyotes with. I didn't do that. I know it can be done, but no way in hell would I outright suggest that. The guy asked what kind of bullets and range and you guys were saying it can't be done. It shouldn't be done unless you absolutely know what you're doing. He didn't say he was going to buy another gun to do it. Find the range and you can do it. Smart thing to do? No, but like I said it can be done. It looks like you know a lot more about coyote hunting than me, but there is no need to mean about it. I am sorry if you took my post that way. Actually I'm not, because you can read. _v101

Yeah I can read. Speaking of reading though, where did I say it can't be done again?

No serious coyote hunter I know uses a .22 lr for coyote hunting. Whatever our opinion is of a coyote, we at least owe it a clean kill. Not trying to start a pissing match but this is one subject that really "pisses" me off. Not trying to be mean either, I just write kinda matter of fact.

You're right Curt. Using a .22 on coyotes isn't right. We do owe them an ethical kill and that sure won't do it every time. Espically with a joe schmoe hunter(not saying anyone is, but you know what I mean). I agree with you 100%. I didn't say 'you' said that. I just hear it a lot and I know it can be done. But you're right. It shouldn't be done unless you're trapping them. I guess I should've just kept what I've seen to myself instead of encouraging something that I wouldn't do myself. I guess it would be like hunting elk with a .243. It can do the job, but why and at what cost? Oh, and you're writing style is fine, Curt. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Good hunting. _v101
