22 K Hornet

I have a K in a 20 inch Contender barrel. I like to shoot the Hornady 40 grain V Max and the magazine on my CZ 527 was a problem. The bullets had to be seated way too deep to fit the mag. Plus I am left handed and I just reached the point where I decided no more right handed guns. Now I have true left handed guns, ambidextrous guns- Ithaca 37s with left hand safeties or single shots.

Once the cases are formed, I seldom need to trim the cases on the K Hornet, whereas I was trimming the regular Hornet cases after every second shot. I get great accuracy and the K Hornet cases just look so cool.

I, too, have a cz 527 and had a feed problem, also. I went through James Calhoon and got one of his single shot followers and basically made my cz a single shot. Don't mind it though. That little thing shoots like a dream with almost anything I want to feed it. I also like the 40 gr V-max and also like 46 gr Win HP as well as 45 gr Sierra SP.

Hey, K-22, how does that ruger shoot? I've owned a couple of hornets and they didn't shoot all that well. Then I found this CZ that had been rechambered to K and it is a tack driver. Plus my brass lasts a lot longer as it doesn't stretch as bad.

I've had my Ruger for maybe 20 years now, and it shoots very well.

When I first got it (new), it was a solid 2" shooter. It is now a sub-MOA gun.

What helped was a Timney Spring and Sear kit, Lilgun powder, small pistol primers and a Lee Collet Die.
