The barrel burning is a myth, thats back in the day, when they advertised the first centerfire to break 4000 fps....but to do that, ya got to throw 45 grain bullets like the factory did.
A swift barrel will last as long as any other 22 centerfire barrel if taken care of the same, and don't try to make it something it isn't. The 250 and swift are neck and neck, with the swift able to spit out comprable bullet weights just a tad faster, kind of the smae as the difference between the 243 and the 6mm.
The feed trouble comes in from the rimmed cartridge of the swift, just like some magazine fed 22 hornets, they begin to take on an angle that at times will nose the bullet down against the feed ramp, some rifles exhibit this problem some don't, but it does happen. Same with split necks, I had a Ruger that was hard on necks, spiltting some after only two ro three loadings, other rifles may not exhibit the same problem, but it is a known problem among rifles shooting the swift cartridge.
