Cramer you need to ask yourself if you are prepared to become a Swift junkie should you get one. Ask yourself if you are OK with turning up your nose at all the, shall we say, "lesser" cartridges out there. Start pouring through load data both old and new to see just what you can wring out of the mighty Swift. Will you be OK with turning all the rest of your rifles into safe queens and never grab for a gun unless the barrel is stamped with numbers starting with ".220"? Start buying powder not by the pound or the jug but by the pallet? Have the bullets manufactures call you direct when they have a sale so they will know if they need to even bother advertising because they think that you are going to buy them all? And will you enjoy getting Christmas cards every year from the various barrel makers because of all that you do to help keep them in business?

Think of this and think of it good and hard. Because once you buy a .220 Swift you just may not have time in your life for anything else. Not like that is a bad thing however. It just comes with the territory.

I am slowly realizing this is gonna end up being a life changing decision haha. One question I do have is barrel material. I want a blued barrel but would duracoat/cerakote a stainless barrel just to extend the life/accuracy of my barrel. Opinions?

Both were on my wish list too, now I have a swift. It is a M700 VSF I changed out the tupperware stock for a B&C medalist . I love that thing. I am still looking for a hornet though.

No reasons come to mind, just get it. After you do you will belong to the elite " 220 swift club ". Jk, you won't regret to though.

Hey bobtails, which stock did you get? was the one that was originally on your rifle fat at the forearm and at the palm? mine is and its great for the bench but I cant stand it when in hunting situations which is most of the time.

It was one of the newer tuuperware stocks . It is a little fat but not alot. I really like this medalist stock. It is olive drab green with black webbing. I will get a pic of it up here when I get home this weekend.
