223 52 gr for deer?

Many many deer have been killed with a .22 long rifle. Probably more than any other caliber. If you hit them anywhere in the nervous system they will stay down.
 
It's all in shot placement (poke a hole through the lungs and it won't go far at all,sometimes just drt) and bullet selection. I've taken quite a few with 55gr.sp I've never lost 1 with a good lung hit,I'll never risk a head shot, to many things could happen like blowing off a jaw and the animal suffer til it dies.
