Well I have been trying Varget in my 223 AI and not really getting the results I really want. I went up to 26g of Varget and varied the COL from +.01 into the lands and -.04 off of them.(-.02 seems to be best but very minor change) Not really getting much change in accuracy. Shooting roughly In the high .700 to right under MOA. My other high quantity powder I have on hand is XBR 8208. Anyone trying this combo out? Just kinda looking where to start, I was thinking somewhere around 22-23 grains should be safe, I am already shooting formed brass so I can stuff the case.

You should be safe starting at 23 with xbr. I have gotten to 25g with the parent case,i use 24.2 now (non Ackley)
Or you can use 26.2 of r-15 and be done with it. (Ackley)

It's funny how every barrel is different. I shot a bunch of powders trying to find a decent load for the 75 in 223AI. The holy grail was supposed to be R15 but I tried about everything after it was unsatisfactory. Ended up finding a very good load with mine in Varget @ 25.7gr. Haven't chrono'd it but I don't really care as long as the SD not super high. It's shooting VERY good.

I'll look tonight & see what I went to on the 8208.

I loaded from 23g-25g of 8208 for some test, I think I will be able to go up on charge, but want to see if its any more accurate first.
