223 AR 300 yard + accuracy??

glad someone noticed. I save them, and recycle when they become full of holes. So I get a free target with every purchase. If only PaPa Johns knew they would start charging.

I am just trying to figure out the info that you are actuallu after. In an AR you are resticted to mag length for seating unless you plan on single loading, in a 527 you have the same issue.

I have to say that magazine length never occurred to me. For the rifles I reload for it isn't an issue. With the longer leade or throat of the 5.56 I assumed that loading long compared to the 223 was common practice.

I would prefer not to reload, time is limited... And the Fiocchi accuracy informs me that if the 50gr A-Max load offers good on game performance I won't have to. But Jeez, the cheap plinking ammo sucks!

Widowmaker, are you trying just different powders and bullets then?

The fmj groups in the pic are the same load two different guns. The rest of the groups that arent labeled dpms are from a rifle with a new barrel im working up loads for. After many different combinations nothing looked promising. Looking at the groups i knew the problem wasnt me so i grabbed the dpms just to prove to myself that the problem wasnt me.

First rule of coyote hunting; Leave your scope on the lowest magnification when calling.

Now that we got that out of the way........

While on the lowest scope setting, If you can hit a six inch target 9 out of 10 times at three hundred yards then you and your rifle are good enough in my book.

Go try it, it is not as easy as one would think.
