.223 cal.AR Type vs. Bolt Type rifles for Varmint

have 8 or 9 predator guns
and they all have some sort of purpose
but if I had to just take 1 it would be my AR

It's light and easy to carry and not just good for a quick 2 shot but i find it easy to get on fast moving target

I have a 6mm VLS and an AR.

I already had the AR lower that I use for service rifle competition, so the varmint upper wasn't that expensive. I had it built with a 24" Krieger 1-9 that should shoot everyting up to 69 grains without a problem. First three out of the barrel was a 3/4" group at 200 yards. Anybody that says AR's aren't accurate doesn't shoot one.

In my opinion, the AR platform is the best there is for Predator Hunting.

Absolutely! When it comes to putting the most dogs on the stretcher possible, it'd be hard to beat it in the hands of the experienced shooter. For long-range pr. dogs/coyotes i use a custom ISSI upper 9 twist 26" Hart in .223 AI shooting the 69 Nosler Comp. I also have a 4.5-14X Burris FFII/Ballistic Plex reticle, that allows for 1st shot connections to some pretty good ranges in good conditions.
