.223 fur damage

Looking for a good bullet in .223 for my AR15 calling rig.

Do you think the Nosler ballistic tip does less fur damage than the hornady VMAX?

Do you think I should go the Hollow Point route?

Thanks Guys

They are almost identical and I have not had any problems with either one. I also use 75gr BTHP match from hornady with good results.

i use both balistic tip, vmax and partition . are you shooting fox ? coyote? how much is an average coyote hide worth after you have cased and stretched it?

I'm using 55 grain Hornady V- max bullets in my Savage bolt-action .223 and it leaves a small entrance hole and usually no exit hole on the Coyotes I've shot.I would think any Hollow Point would expand much more and cause more hide/fur damage?

+1 on the 52 gr match kings. The last four coyotes I shot were with that bullet out of my 223 and couldn't even find the entrance hardly, no exits. All were bang flops.

I'm not going to say one's better than the other because I don't use plastic tipped bullets for hunting but for reference, here's crappy pic of those two bullets' innards.
The BT (on the left) clearly has a thicker jacket and heavier base so that would be my choice.

Shooting 20in 1in 9 bushmaster after about 30 coyotes have had no exits inside 200 yards. Load is 50gr horn sx at 3250fps. Stays inside head even at close range(less than 50yds)

This.

52 grain Ultramax HP's. Remanufactured ammo but I've never had a problem with it. Shot a female this morning at 62 yards right between the shoulders as she was trotting away. No exit hole.

This is the bullet I've switched to also. I don't save the mangy fur but it sure kills good and doesn't exit most times.

Any Bullet will give you heavy Fur damage if you hit a bone. I shoot Blitzkings. I shot this Coyote that came in and sat down facing slightly right about 75 yards out. I almost blew the left shoulder completely off when I hit it.

Most times it is small holes in and out.
