223 gopher loads with 700x?

Just wondering if any of you use 700 x in your gopher loads.. I probably have 10 pounds of it.. Also is the 700x position sensitive? I don't want to damage anything by shooting downward out of a tree stand.. Thanks

700x is extremely fast for rifle cartridges and jacketed bullets. Lyman used to have cast bullet loads listed for 700x in their "Cast Bullet Handbook".

Calhoun bullets list a bunch of gopher loads for 800x in small rifle cartridges like the 222, and 223. I use these.

Check out his "Informative Articles" called ""To Bee or 223"

AWS is correct. After reading "To Bee or 223" in the Varmint Hunter maybe 15 or so years ago I'm sold on the Blue dot loads in the 223. 700X is a good 12ga target load powder also works well in the 45acp with cast. Lyman books list many rifle cast bullet loads with 700X.

Old DuPont reloader guides listed rifle loads for almost every powder that they made, wish that I had not thrown that guide in the trash.

700 x is darn fast, I would want some very reliable loading information before I tried it.

Blue dot is tried and tested in the 223.

Be careful..

I live out in the sticks when it comes to buying supplies.. Will any of these powders make a safe gopher load
Universal clays
H110

Sr 4759
TAC

UPS truck does no care where you live, you are playing with a dangerous mind set with some of those pistol powders in a rifle.

Tac will work, and the old speer manuals used to list some loads with 4759 along with the old IMR manuals.

I hear ya.. Was going to order a pound.. About 20 dollars... Hazmat was $28.. I'll just wait till I can make a run to the big city.. Lol

ya because of the hazmat thing.. if you're gonna order powder and/or primers online... you need to be ready to order enough to make it worth your trouble and spread that hazmat fee around.

its per box charge on hazmat (not per item) - and you can ship quite a bit of powder/primers in a single box - the best bet is to save up until you need 8-10 lbs or so (figure a $250-$300 order type of thing) or go in with a buddy and split the shipping/hazmat between ya.

which considering the potential upcoming political climate, might not be a bad idea either way.
