OK heres the deal I wan't a .223 rem. but am looking for a rifle with a 1:9 twist rate as I intend to use bullets from 60 Grs. on up. Does anyone besides Savage make such a beast? M-4 type guns are out as I'm a prisoner of kalifornia. Are there any other options???

my remington 7615 is a 9 twist, you can get a fab 10 lower and an upper of your choice (I reccomend 8 twist) the new savage coming out I think is a 9, as well as CZ

Hi and welcome,
I normally shoot a Tikka with a 1-12 twist that likes 40 gr. bullets,I also have a Fab-10 with 1-9 twist that shoots the same load fairly well. ( haven't tried any other load in the Fab-10) I'm also a prisoner of Ca. If you live in southern ca. you can call "Larry" for more information regarding a Fab-10 at L&G Weaponary 1-714-840-3772 he will be glad to help you.
Oh, I almost forgot, the fab-10 and Tikka are .223 Rem.
Happy and safe hunting .. Emilio .. Pico Rivera, Ca.

The Tikka T3's are 1-8 twists...

At least mine is. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

It will eat pretty much anything 50gr & up and I wouldn't go any lighter.

Put a nice Leupold on top too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Tac223,
Couldn't agree with you more on the scope. my .270 (current yote gun) wears a Vari-X III 2.5-8 and the .223 i'm planing on getting will probably wear a Vari-X III 4.5-14X50LR.

MI VHNTR
I like the looks of the LTR expecially the weight @ 7.5 lbs.
