223 suppressors with the least "first round pop"

I am starting to shop around I should have the spare change to spend on a suppressor next month.

This will be used almost entirely for coyote hunting and I will be carrying it for miles so weight and size will be considered but right now(knowing very little about suppressors) eliminating any first round pop is my main concern as well as actual decibel reduction.

I would love to not spend more than a grand on a suppressor but I also want a quick detach so I dont have screw on and off flash hiders all the time if the can isnt on.

What are your favorite 223 coyote hunting cans?

I would avoid a monolithic core if you wanted to stay away from FRP. They definitely have their place, but I've shot a few, and had more than a few big manufacturers tell me it's tuff to get around.
As a small example the gen 1 Silencer Co Sparrow, has a nasty first round pop.
Although for hunting I would be more concerned of a first round POI shift, which is why I usually run what we do, no FRP or POI shift.

After talking to Steve ^ I may have changed my mind a little. He had some good things to say about the SAS 260 Barricade. I wanted to stick with caliber specific 5.56 for overall sound reduction and my 223 is the only firearm I hunt with besides some bird hunting with a shotgun, but if it's got four legs and doesn't eat deer I am hunting with a bow.

I do have a 260 that may someday get threaded for a suppressor and hopefully ether a 6x6.8 AR15 or 260 AR10 will end up in my safe sooner than later.

5.56 noise reduction is priority but it would be nice to be able to swap the can out on other rifles(someday)

Anyone have experience with the 260 Barricade? And how much noise reduction I would lose shooting 223 through a 6.5 can?

Matt,
I'll be out at the range this weekend and will shoot a few vid's with the Barricade on a AR with 16" and a SBR. Just to show you how it performs.
thanks

Thanks, that would be awesome, I will be putting it on a 16" barrel. I just watched the videos you sent me and it sounds good, I think I heard a couple of the bullets hitting the berm you were shooting at.

What do you run?

FRP is much more prevalent in rimfire cans vs. quality centerfire cans and is really not an issue.

Like Skinny stated you should look more at accuracy and repeatability than FRP.

My B&K 2209 is in(MIL-SPEC Meter) Done at MIL-SPEC standard. Test all the SAS line up this past weekend.
NO FFP on any of them.

Eadrum 5 shot average: 142DB

Sentinel 5 Shot average: 139DB

The Barricade 6.5Suppressor on a 556 5 Shot average: 139.5 DB

NO-NO-NO FFP.

there may but but I've never heard a FRP on my YHM phantom 30 cal can. I shoot in on all my guns 17FB up to 6x47L. Soon a 7mm RG.

Well I am glad I dont have to worry about it especially with a quality can. For hunting coyotes I am usually shooting under 100 yards and I was more worried about the first round pop than accuracy and repeatability.

Now that I dont have to worry about FRP accuracy and repeatability will be the top priority because I know I will be doing some target shooting as far as I possibly can.
