4198 isn't a wrong choice it works ok in 223, I have used up to 23.5 grains with a 40 grain bullet in my 1 in 9 CZ and it works allright.
.223 V-max and Varget.

I have been reloading for 40+ years and Ain't never found nuthin that likes any flavor of 4198. Some swear by it but I like IMR 4895, Benchmark, H322, and BL-C2 in that order for my .223s.
