My buddy has a 22-250 and I like it, but I still like my AR in .223 better. My AR has 1 in 9" twist and I have recently been shooting 40 grain ballistic tips, and it shoots them accurately at 100 yards. I haven't tried them on paper past that, but I assume they'll be fine at farther ranges. I don't have many chances to shoot much past 200 yards.
I've shot 2 coyotes in the last 2 weeks with the 40 grainers, and had very good results.
