**22x6.8 Hornady Die set and RPG Barrel Group Buy**

I just talked with Ritch and he wants to sweeten the pot a little bit more. He told me to knock another $25 off the barrels with the purchase of a die set bring them down to $250 for a total package price of $375!

Try Tactical Ammunition in St.Hellens Oregon. The Creedmoors that Ritch has been shooting were turned by them. He's built a couple for customers and has found that all were shooting pretty consistent 0.5 MOS.

They have been supplying a shooting school here in Phoenix. Shipped them four barrels and all four shot solid 0.4 MOA using the same ammunition.

I will give you 3 as they each arrive over the next couple months.

I might add that I have a new 6X6.8 upper being delivered tomorrow with one of these tubes. Ritch ordered two at the same time. One for him and one for me. I'll wring it out next week.

When I searched them, the only other company I found selling them in the u.s. Was tactical ammunition. The address for tactical ammunition is next door to BHW/Columbia River Arms. Google maps just shows an empty field, so I don't know if they are under the same roof or not, and I don't know what the ownership of each company is, but that's why I asked the questions I did.

Edit: I just saw that GL shooter mentioned Tactical Ammunition. I am curious if Columbia River Arms and tactical ammunition are owned by some or all of the same people? I just found it odd that the addresses for each are next door to each other.

It's a long story as to location but TA and CRA/BHW have no connection legally of product wise at all other than a shared driveway area it starts and stops there. Product manufacturing is totally different. I guess they do share the same steel maker in Germany and that's it.

BTW I also mentioned these were not rebadged BHW barrels. These are five grove ploy All of the BHW's are three except some stuff they did for one company under an NDA and some of their first barrels, The five land is showing to consistently out shoot the threes BTW.

Greg

BTW Google sucks for things like that. With all this sleuthing are you going to jump in?

I'm in. Already sent my money.

I probably don't have as many BHW barrels as some(I have 12), but I've been happy with all of them except one, and the jury is still out on that one.

I just like to know who I am doing business with, and that they are well intentioned people. It's not so easy to tell when doing business on the Internet.

Pretty good thinking. Of course based on who's running this here should be a major boost to your confidence. Nick is a stand up guy and no one can cast shade on Ritch. Ritch doesn't sell or endorse junk.

Yep. Buy with confidence, shoot with pride!

Which is fine but takes a lot more time at the bench.

Just size and shoot. No different than the 6X6.8. No turn and no ream.

Greg
Do these dies take a 6.8 to a .22x6.8 with one stroke, or do you use bushing dies to get there first. then use 22x6.8 after firing?

From the conversations I've seen, it's one pass from 6.8 to 22x6.8

I will be 100% honest as I am not trying to mislead anyone.

Hornady tells me that with a shoulder angle less than 30 degrees we can size down the neck 0.050" in one step. In this case we need to go 0.053" and Hornady is confident enough that they recommend going without an intermediate size die(3 die set) to save money. If there happens to be issues we can have an intermediate die made. I am putting my trust in the experts and that's why these will be a 2 die set.

Since these exact dies have not been made before I have not sized a 6.8spc case down to 22 cal however there are similar chamberings that use a 2 die set one of which is made by Hornady and the reports I have found are that they do size down in one step.

As a proof of concept, Greg took some 223 brass, which uses the same 23 deg shoulder as the 6.8 spc, and necked them up to 6.8mm with mandrels and then sized them back down to 22 cal with a regular 223 to die and it worked just fine.

Lets get them and then we will know.

I am pretty sure the guys at Hornady know what they are talking about. They have been doing this for ages.

There is no cap on how many dies we order, just need the 25 minimum. That said, I am not going to wait more than a day or so after we reach 25 to place the order so I wouldn't wait too long to get on board.

Ritch can chime in on the barrels.
