2400 vs h110-44mag

You were lucky, Jerry, I bought a 5# can; that's a LOT of 45 ACP's.

It did work well in the 1911 but was dirty. Switched to A5 the next can.

^^ Yes sir that is a lot of soot on a .45. After shooting that stuff through a stainless gun, I decided that the economy was not worth the hassle. How much do you use in a .45? 5 grains or so?

Unique is not the cleanest stuff. But is is extremely versatile and bulky enough to prevent double loads in most chamberings. I shoot thousands of rounds of it, yeah it has some residue but IMHO the dirtiness is over-hyped unless you never care to clean your guns.

Unique aside, 2400 gives me the flexibility to load strong 44/41Mag loads across a broader band of performance. H110, it's 100% or nothing. and in 41Mag 100% wasn't even good enough (no squibs in 44Mag). No use for such a narrow application than can be duplicated by another.

Ironically, I bought my 41Mag because I bought some H110 by mistake and needed a magnum pistol to justify it.
