Does anybody use the rem 100gr cor-lok factory ammo for coyotes? I have a rem mod 7 243 that I use for a walkin predator calling rifle that shoot these just stupid accurate. I was wondering about the performance on fur.

If you are close or you hit bone, it will make a mess, but most calibers will at some point. Just try to aim for the lungs and it will be good enough to at least be able to sew up the hole.

If you hit the shoulder, you will not have much left usually.

I have used this bullet for years and it is a good penatrator on the smalll deer of West Tennessee . I would expect a good hole .

I think the 100 grain Core Loct will be a fine choice for coyotes, and fur damage will be less than you would see with the lighter weight varmint bullets.

I think I will give the 100gr cor-lokt's a try. The 100gr bullet is really not what I was wanting to use on predators but it puts 3 shots in one ragged hole at 100 yards. I worked up a load using 55gr nosler bt's but with this short skinny barrel the best I can do with it is 5/8 inch at a hundred, which isn't that bad for this gun and would do fine for calling. Thanks guys for the replies

My SPS Varmint was extremely accurate with the 100 grain cor lok. I actually killed my first coyote with that bullet. I shot him in the chest so no exit. If you can't shoot them in the chest, try to make a good shot in the lungs without hitting the shoulder and you should be fine. The hole should be small in and small out.

I have used 100 grainers for years. doesn't mess the hide bad at all and best of all they drop right there, i would rather have a dead coyote with a hole than a live wounded one running off!!
