Just ordered a Tikka T-3 light in 243 for whitetails. Just getting back into reloading. 25-30 years ago my whole family used 243's in pa. I use to use 105 gr round nose with 34 gr of IMR 4064 powder. I was really impressed with that load. It hit them deer hard. But I can't find them now. With all these new wave bullets is thier one that will work as well or better? Almost all my shots will be well under 200 yards. Thanks.

Berger 95gr seems to be the new cats meow to some 243 whitetail hunters. I have been using 95gr Fusion ever since they came out, and they hit em very hard as well. Never had one go over 30 yards.

Hornady 100gr. spire point Interlock. You can pay more for a bullet, but it won't perform any better on whitetails than this one.

I've been using the Remington 80 grainers, which I purchased with a good discount for a lot of 5K. It worked great. So far I have not lost a single deer or wild pigs.

factory winchester 100grains work well out to 175yards with good placement. My 06 sits in the cabinet and the 243 gets all the action.

Banes use to make a 105g orininal soft point and I would love to see it come back. I have loaded Sciroccos for a friend that has harvested a half a dozen whitetails with it. None of which DRT'd, most have gone 25-40 yards before expiring. I might give it a try next year with some 100g Remington corelocts. They have always DRT'd whitetails in 180g out of my 30-06 and would think they would have close to the same effect in the lighter projectile. I believe Hornady just came out with some 107 grainers.
