Anyone worked up some loads with the 55gr Varmageddon bullets? I am wanting to push these pretty fast.

20" barrel and 1:10 twist. More thank likely use Varget as I have plenty of it, but open to other options too.

Let's hear what you like. Thanks in advance!

I got 4000 fps with H380 in the summer(it's supposed to be pretty temp senitive) with 55gr BT's. They were VERY hot loads and I won't try to duplicate it.

From a 20" Savage 99C in .243.

I have got good results with 55 Nosler BT with 42gr of Varget. I haven't chronographed it but it shoots a tiny little group. cci lrp is the ignition source.

If I recall I use h4895 with 55s for my axis.
I load 42 grains of varget with sierra 60 hp's for my 20" 8 twist ar-10.

Try surperformance or IMR 8208 XBR
They shoot and load like the same ballistic tip.
In my 6mm rem 26" barrle I get 4200 fps.

After I built my .243 AI a few years ago I wanted to try some lighter bullets loaded around 4000 fps to see how they would do. I bought a couple of boxes of 55 grain Varms and much to my delight they cloverleafed at 100 yards. They shot so well that I used them to take out some almost 600 yard distant (had a bit of holdover I admit) Nevada ground squirrels. The last time they went on sale I bought 1000 of them just to have. Not a great bullet for "outchonder" shooting, but they sure shot well for me. I bet they will for you as well.

Long story short, this gets me excited! Thanks for the feed back on the Varmageddons. Can't wait for the build to be done for the AR10. I have shot a bolt action for quite some time in 243, but ready to get the 243 gasser done. Thanks!

H4895 is what I load my 58gr Vmax for my .243. Very accurate out of my rifle.
