Anyone know of a source for under forty bucks each? I am tempted to just buy some 20 roundersfrom Cproducts and try to modyfy them but I have heard it is a pita

44mag.com; D&H/Labelle, NHMTG, Magpul P-mag, are excellent magazines.

BTW, a .223 mag is easy to modify to .243WSSM. I'll post a pic of a [Magpul P-mag] I modfied. Tools; a dremel tool with a disc cutter wheel & a bench grinder. Grind a little bit, test for function...grind alittle bit, test for function. Grind off TOO much, buy new parts.

I've never done anything with this round or the mags, so please excuse my ignorance, but would it do any good to replace the magazine follower with one of the non-tilt style plastic follower so that you don't get a big ol hole in it?

Just curious.

fields mj,

A few yrs ago, the only mag follower for the .243WSSM. Were converted .223 followers. Perhaps, they have designated .243 follower's out on the market now? I haven't checked.

The hole in the follower is of no consequence. It doesn't cause any problems or solve any.

I have been using the Magpul anti-tilt followers for years in my WSSM mag conversions. They also get a "hole" in them when they are modified for the job, but it doesn't effect their performance.

The anti-tilt follower has definitely enhanced reliability though. With the old follower, once in a great while the bolt coming back and hooking the shoulder of the next round could tilt the follower and cause feed problems. The Magpul follower took care of that little problem.
