I wasn't going to ask but then figured what the heck? I'm working with 100 and 115 grain Noslers. So far all I have used for powder is IMR 4451. I'm going to try some H 4831 next. What do you guys recommend? Thanks!!

Note: Rifle is a bone stock Ruger 77 with a standard barrel.

I shot R#19 with two different bullets:

87g speer spt

100g speer btsp

use win cases, win primers, I jumped bullets .040 in the last Rem 700 barrel I used.

I bumped the shoulder every firing with a Forster Neck sizing die, as the loads for accuracy are at max. The accuracy was nothing short of amazing with both of the speer bullets.

Your barrel will love or hate the noslers...my 700 was not too keen on them...you never know till you try.

good luck

Kinda seems that way with all Nosler bullets. Your rifle is either a tack driver or makes you scratch your head and say what the $%#& happened there. I haven't had a quarter bore in a long time so I'm just starting to buy bullets for it. Just so happens I bought Nosler first. Thanks Keith!!

They just have Ballistic Tip Hunting on the box.

I've used h-4831 and h-4831sc for years with good results. I think all you can get now is the sc version which meters better. They both are the same except for size.

IMR-4831 and Hodgson-4831 however are not the same. Do not mix up their load numbers. IMR is hotter

In my original post I said I was using IMR but actually its Hodgdon's.They are different!!

My Sendero loves R22 and 100 gr. SMK's. I'm pretty sure I used the Sierra Accuracy load and it was spot on... But I don't remember off hand how much that was... 58 grains sounds right.

115 Nosler Ballistic Tip and H-4831 is my go to load in the 25-06. I use that load for everything from coyotes to deer and hogs. The 115 NBT is a good bullet in the 25, hard to beat. If your rifle likes it of course. I have used RL-19 as well, but prefer H-4831.

I'm with JTP with the 115 Nosler BT and H4831SC except I shoot 85 gr Nosler BT's for Varmints. Never had to try any other powder as H4831SC or regular H4831 has always shot great for me. The 75 gr VMax ,100 gr Sierra also shot well.

The H4831 shot really well in my rifle. The 115 Noslers and the H4831 produced very acceptable groups considering its a pure stock rifle. 50 and 51 grains had two touching and one just out. Both groups under an inch and the 50 grain load was even better.I think if I give the barrel a little more time to cool, I may tighten up the ones just out of the group.

My go-to powder for the 25-06 is H-4831 and 100 gr. Speer BTSP bullets. Great accuracy and performance. The 100 gr. Speers are constructed a little but tougher than some other 100 grainers. They penetrate well. Have taken a variety of game with that combo, such as several antelope, a couple of deer, corsican ran, turkeys, groundhogs, crows etc. Seems to just work well for everything I have used them on.

My go-to is 53 gr'S H4831sc , 117 gr Hornaday SST, Remington large rifle mag primers, Remington Brass.

I use this load for deer , pigs , and yotes.

Pyscodog...I've got a 25-06 about 10 years ago that was to be my deer rifle. I turned it into an everything rifle and have a sheet of data for RL22 and H4831 and one Varget load. Bullets range from 90 to 120 gr Sierra, Speer, Hornady and Nosler. Here are my top 2 from a Kimber Montana 1:10 twist. 115gr Berger VLD Hunting, 50.0gr H4831, CCI200 and mixed brass...shot 0.4". 100gr Speer HPFB (#1407), 43.5gr Varget, CCI200 and mixed brass...sot 0.5". The Bergers are devastating on deer in SC. The Noslers were Accubonds. Send me a PM and I'll get you the excel spreadsheet for it

I used IMR4350 with every bullet weight and it worked well, gave good velocity and accuracy. Also tried H4831 but saw no difference so just stayed with my first choice.

Last 12 years I've been using RL19 and it works as well as the IMR4350 and gives even more velocity. I don't think you can go wrong with any powder in that burn range.
