256 winchester mag

I happened to visit with a man who has a winchester 256 mag it is a marlin lever action looks like a savage 99 it is in excellent condition . Anyone have some ideas of value?

They are collector guns.... very few were made back in the mid 60's

Ruger made a single shot pistol, Hawkeye.
There were a few M-1 carbines made.
Buy the rifle, ammo will be hard find.
I think you can make them from 357 cases.

Fascinating performance on varmints from the pistol. The Contender/Encore would be a great point for the round.
